About Us
Long Walk Farm is owned by Tiffiny Clifton and Matt Johnson.
Matt grew up in small-town Nebraska, surrounded by agriculture and was drawn to farming from a young age. Life took him into the city and into a career in IT—until a too-good-to-pass-up opportunity came along: a few acres of land just east of Council Bluffs.
Tiffiny’s roots run just as deep. She grew up on a farm south of Omaha, often lending a hand to a neighboring farmer with daily chores.
In the middle of the 2020 pandemic, we took the leap—buying a small farm and bringing our shared dream to life. While we don’t have formal agricultural training, we’ve learned through books, videos, conferences, conversations with fellow farmers, and plenty of hands-on experience.
In just three years, we’ve grown from a two-person operation to a thriving team with one full-time employee, three part-time employees, and additional help during the busy summer season. Every step has been fueled by hard work, curiosity, and a passion for feeding our community.

Rooted in Respect for the Land
We farm with nature in mind—using organic (in transition) methods, building healthy soil, and creating a thriving ecosystem from the ground up.
Natural and Organically Grown
We’re in organic transition, meaning we follow organic farming practices without synthetic inputs for weeds or pests, and plant only organic, non-GMO seeds.
Sustainable by Design
Through cover cropping, composting, and mindful resource use, we build healthy soil, reduce erosion, and work toward financial sustainability that supports fair wages and year-round employment.
Low-Till for the Land
By disturbing only the top few inches of soil, using tarps, and mowing plant matter in place, we protect beneficial worms and mycorrhizal networks while keeping our soil structure intact.

Furry & Feathered Friends
Our animals are part of the heart of Long Walk Farm—each with unique traits, gentle personalities, and an important role in our farm’s ecosystem.

LaMancha Goats
Known for their tiny, distinctive ears and friendly, curious nature, LaManchas are exceptional dairy goats. They produce rich, high-butterfat milk over a long season and bring a calm, cooperative presence to the farm.

Kunekune Pigs
These “fat and round” pigs from New Zealand are gentle grazers with charming wattles under their chins. Kunekunes are affectionate, docile, and social—always ready for a belly rub and content to live harmoniously with other animals.

Ducks
Our Magpie, Swedish Blue, and Khaki Campbell ducks are excellent foragers and prolific egg layers. They free-range daily, return to their coop at night, and help keep the farm thriving while adding beauty and character to our fields.
